The words “The End” are officially on the page—and I can hardly believe it. Book 3 of Heart of the Worlds, Faeries Don’t Hide, is fully drafted. Right now, it’s a raw, sprawling thing: full of messy magic, tangled betrayals, new friendships, and battles that shook even me while writing them.

I absolutely LOVE the cinematic mind movies that overwhelm the senses even if I have to figure out how to paint them in words. The climax in particular took my breath away.

A fantasy-themed promotional image for Faeries Don’t Hide (Heart of the Worlds, Book 3) by T.F. Burke. The book stands upright with an ornate red and gold cover. In the background, a glowing astrolabe, a blue pegasus, and a silhouette of a faery appear in a misty forest. A wererat peeks from behind the book with a dagger. Three characters—two young men and one young woman—stand in front, the story’s protagonists.
The journey continues… Faeries Don’t Hide (Book 3 of Heart of the Worlds) brings battles, betrayals, and bonds tested under starlight. Aunia, Mathias, and Keston step into a story where prophecy collides with danger—and nothing can stay hidden forever. 💫

I do have to admit that this part of the process is something I love and fear in equal measure. Drafting is like racing through a forest at night with only the stars for light—you know the path kind of, but branches snag, roots trip, and sometimes the way twists in directions you didn’t see coming. Yet somehow, you reach the clearing.

Now comes revisions—MY FAVORITE PART! This is where I look through all my notes, trace each step, and shape the rough stone into something sharp, luminous, and ready for readers to hold. It’s the part where themes sharpen, characters grow deeper, and the foreshadowing threads are shored up. And all those bits that I discovered that make the title so provocative will be polished and gleaming. After all… what all is hidden and what has been exposed?

And because I can’t resist, here are a few tiny snippets from the draft to tease what’s waiting inside:

🌌 “The star shuddered, as though it could no longer decide if it belonged to the Harp or the Hammer.”
🐀 “Bibb’s wererats swarmed like a tide, each pair of eyes glowing with hunger—and something far darker.”
🕊️ “Aunia pressed her forehead to Mathias’, feeling the pulse of the astrolabe beat between them, alive, furious, and impossibly beautiful.”

There’s still a road between here and the book’s release, but for the first time, the whole of Faeries Don’t Hide exists. It breathes. It pulses. And now I get the joy (and challenge!) of refining it until the story shines the way it’s meant to.

Stay tuned—I’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes glimpses, snippets, and revision updates as I go. The journey of Book 3 continues and I can’t wait for you to step into it. 💫

Faeries Don’t Hide, btw, is on preorder now
